Weddings
Central location
A wedding reception in Bonar Hall is a pleasant experience from start to
finish. The accommodation is attractive and roomy, and the staff are experienced
and extremely pleasant. Anything we can do to make your day extra special
will be done with the greatest of pleasure. We are situated in the centre
of Dundee on the edge of the University of Dundee Campus, two minutes walk
from the main shopping area, and ten minutes walk from the railway station.
Couples having their reception in Bonar Hall are encouraged to pay at
least one visit to the Hall to discuss their detailed requirements with
the Floor Manager Peter Murray. Either Peter Murray or Floor Supervisor
Sean Donaldson will be on duty during your wedding reception, so that there
will be a familiar person around at all times. Prices available on request.
Ustinov Room & Main Hall
We use the Ustinov Room (named after the actor Peter Ustinov who was Rector
of the University of Dundee some years ago) - and the Main Hall for weddings,
depending on numbers and requirements. The Ustinov Room is often used for
the wedding meal in the late afternoon, and when the evening guests arrive
around 7pm everyone moves downstairs to the Main Hall. Tables are already
set out downstairs and the bar is open. We have a late licence till 1am.
The Ustinov Room can seat up to 120 depending on type of table
used. The Hall can seat a max of 200 using rectangular tables. This
also allows a good sized dance floor. We have soft lighting which when
combined with our table linen and crockery and the bride's floral arrangements,
looks very attractive.
Catering
Couples can choose their own caterer for their meal in Bonar Hall. Any
Registered Caterer would be acceptable. We keep a small list of caterers
whom we have found to regularly give good service, and these will supply
you quotes on request. We have table linen and crockery which we hire at
very low cost to caterers, if they wish. We always meet with caterers before
the event to discuss all the details, and ensure all goes well on your
big day.
