About Us

Life for Bonar Hall employees, John McIntyre and Peter Murray (see picture right: top and bottom respectfully) is one long party. No pipe and slippers by the fire for them, their lives are a mad whirl of social engagements.

They set up Bonar Hall for events and see them through, often involving turnarounds at 2.30am for the next event. After clearing up the bar, and after snatching a few hours sleep, they are back at the helm for the new event.

A truly amazing number and category of events takes place in Bonar Hall. This means a wealth of experience is gained in advising on events, seeing them through, and dealing with all the very different people and requirements involved. Potential clients often come into the Hall with only the vaguest idea of how to maximise their event, but after talking things through with staff they certainly appear to feel a heavy weight lifted from them.

John and Peter have 'been there - seen it and done it' - as the saying goes. Not only that, they are always jovial and helpful, kind and willing, as hundreds of thank you letters on file in Bonar Hall can verify.

At the core of the team is the cleaner Evelyn Wilson who has been with Bonar for six years. She is another valued member of staff who manages to keep a large and heavily used venue spotlessly clean.

Happily, all the staff of Bonar Hall, in spite of long and wearying hours, maintain they never dread going to work as many other people do. This is probably because they feel it is a happy ship!
